"Why We Worship"
I think the most beautiful form of relating to someone
that
you admire is to worship them.
How would we do that?
By saying things that reflect
the beauty and character of the person
that you are admiring.
In so doing,
you reap great benefits
and rewards
that had not been available to you
had your words been negative
in nature.
When we worship God/YAHWEH,
we are doing just that and more.
We are honoring Him in every way.
We are saying that
He is magnificent,
holy,
righteous,
full of grace and truth
and much more.
We submit to His Kingship
and let Him rule over us
and
as we are submitted to Him and His ways,
He overshadows us
and makes us His own,
thus rewarding us openly.
There is a verse that says
that what we do in secret will be rewarded in the open.
May our worship be sweet
and pure
and an outcropping of the meditations of our hearts
and not just empty words without meaning.
